Prioritise Coal Powered baseload-end loadshedding now!
The additional loss of two generation units at Lethabo and Matla power stations moves South Africa from stage 3 loadshedding to stage 6 loadshedding. Yet funds continue to be funnelled into IPP's. This leaves little to no money for scheduled and unscheduled maintenance.
The cash-strapped power utility depends on National Treasury to fund its operations. Prioritising IPP's over coal baseload power generation leaves Eskom unable to fund its own operations. Misdirected funds coupled with poor planning remain Eskom's greatest stumbling blocks. Prioritising coal baseload power generation and proper planning of maintenance will undoubtedly put an end loadshedding by December 2023.
